Vermont Natural Coatings
Vermont Natural Coatings is a one of a kind company that specializes in what they call “Poly-whey technology” – recycling whey from organic cheese farmers in Vermont to create durable polyurethane finishes that are low-VOC. By using recycled whey protein, a natural byproduct of cheese-making, the need for heavy metal driers is eliminated. Both the toxic co-binders and carcinogenic solvents typically found in conventional wood finishes and polyurethane coatings are replaced by natural ingredients.
POLYWHEY:
The classic formula from Vermont Natural Coatings that Ecohome has carried since we opened. PolyWhey is a clear, low VOC water-based polyurethane that is extremely durable and flexible. Available in three sheens – matte, satin and semi-gloss – Polywhey is our favorite polyurethane for any application. Since the whey Vermont Natural Coatings uses is a renewable resource that they “upcycle”, you’re not only protecting your own health, but the health of the planet as well. Ask an associate at the Paint Bar for more information about Polywhey, its origins and its application.
Your home is your story. Let Polywhey’s remarkable story be a part of it.
